First update: Still in production
DreamTown is still in production. We have a 27-minute work in progress along with a 4-minute trailer.
Two additional trips to Ecuador are necessary to follow our characters through their journey and complete their stories for our feature documentary. We have acquired full access to interview the World Cup Squad team, full support from our soccer hero Ulises De La Cruz to complete the film and let us document his journey as he builds his next community project, and access to shoot Anibal’s upcoming futbol season—in full competition to win and advance, having intimate access to traveling and lodging with his team, showing him and his brother visiting his father’s grave who recently passed away, as well as capturing Carlos’s migration to Quito and struggle with trying to hold on to his soccer dreams. All key elements are lined up to complete this film. Our goal is to finish the rest of production by the end of the year. Then continue to post-production and have a completed film by the spring of 2012.
In the meantime, we have been busy requesting support from grant sources such as the IFP market, LPB, Jerome Grant, among others. We are also gearing up to launch our official DreamTown website and gotta give a shout out to web designer Armand Emamdjomeh for helping us bring this website to reality and Media Heist for keeping us on track and connecting us to you.
